Saplings

The Redwood Saplings, Humboldt Roller Derby's junior skaters, are now accepting applications for their 2012 program!  The Saplings Program invites females aged 11-17 to participate in a fun, healthy contact sport while developing their athletic ability, leadership and communication skills.  Participants learn the game of roller derby while making new friends, learning new skills and mastering game strategies.

The Saplings program is divided into two parts:  the Basic Skills Class (which runs January 18 - February 15) and Derby Skills Class (February 29 - June 9).  Classes will be held on Wednesdays at Redwood Acres in Eureka from 4-6pm, and most Saturdays at the Blue Lake Roller Rink from 11am to 1pm.
